We stayed in a beautiful lodge at Karatu with swimming pool and silver service while people living literally metres away use donkeys to cart drinking water to their homes.
Marco took us to see the local orphanage. It was so sad to see the children's living conditions but it's most likely better than the alternative.
We also visited the local privately run school founded by a local man with a great vision. He started the school from his living room 20 years ago with 17 children. Now the school has many buildings and 1000 children.
